| For
as long as I can remember I have been fascinated by the language
of colour and by the positive resonance that some images can
subtly generate.
I
am an Italian painter who was born in Buenos Aires in 1954.
Undoubtedly my early years in South America and Mexico imprinted
upon me a deep love for vibrant colours and primordial landscapes
which continues to influence my painting to the present day.
The
daily discipline of all aspects of the craft has always been
fundamental to my painting. I make my own colours using pure
pigments, and I prepare papers and canvases. It has been suggested
that my technique reveals both my training as an etcher and
the twenty years in which I worked almost exclusively in watercolours.

My
preparatory drawings and compositions reflect my constant
search for simplicity, and in each of my paintings I try to
convey emotions and vitality predominantly through colour
and texture.
I
have recently moved my studio from Europe to Australia in
order to study the colours and textures of the land, the shapes
of ancient rock formations and the effects of light on water.
To obtain the highest possible degree of transparency and
luminosity in my work remains my greatest challenge.
